Returning to the Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy for the eighth successive year, the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London is delighted to present a traditional Christmas Concert. We enjoy this so much that this year we’re doing it twice — December 4th at 2.00pm, and December 18th at 5.30pm.
Accompanied by mulled wine made to an ancient and secret family recipe, and mince pies, this concert is guaranteed to get you fully into the Christmas spirit with a wide stylistic range of Christmas-flavoured ethereal music, entertaining readings and opportunities to stretch the vocal chords by joining in with a few traditional and well-known carols.
The Chapel is a semi-secret hidden gem just off the Strand, belonging to her Majesty the Queen in her Right as Duke of Lancaster. It is the last surviving building of a hospital founded by Henry VII for homeless people in 1512. It is a beautiful, intimate space for concerts with a fine acoustic and splendid Walker organ.
The Brandenburg Singers is a small hand-picked group drawn from the finest of the members of the 150 choirs that perform in the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London. The concert will be introduced and conducted by Bob Porter — Artistic Director of the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London.
