Brandenburg privacy policy

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London is a collective of like-minded promoters dedicated to the promotion of high quality choral performance, including Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra Ltd, JK Management and Oxford Concert Promotions. This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you use our website or purchase tickets to one of our events, or participate in the Festival.

Brandenburg Choral Festival of London is the Data Controller and determines what data is collected and how it is used. The Data Protection Officer for Brandenburg Choral Festival is Marc Gascoigne, Marketing Manager. They, together with the senior management, are responsible for the secure, fair and transparent collection and use of data by Brandenburg Choral Festival of London. Any questions relating to the collection or use of data should be directed to the Data Protection Officer. 

When Brandenburg Choral Festival of London use third party Data Processors (e.g. MailChimp) to process data on our behalf, we ensure all Data Processors are compliant with GDPR.

Anyone, including third party Data Processors, who has access to Brandenburg Choral Festival of London’s data and becomes aware of a potential breach in respect of this data will report the matter to the Data Protection Officer immediately. The Data Protection Officer will ensure that any necessary investigation is undertaken and report any breach to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) within 72 hours. Where any risk to your privacy is identified you will be informed without undue delay.

Participating choirs

We hold basic contact details (choir name, contact name and e-mail address) of choirs to invite them to participate in the Festival. This information is in the public domain and we aim to keep it up-to-date on an annual basis. We do not share this data with anyone else, and we only use it to promote Brandenburg Choral Festival of London activities. At any time, choirs can request to be removed from the mailing list by following the ‘unsubscribe’ instructions in our e-mail, or by contacting the Data Protection Officer.

Third Party Data Processors

1.     Mailing Lists

As part of the process of signing up to our e-mail newsletters we will collect some personal information like your name and e-mail address. This is so we can keep you informed about our upcoming events and any special offers we may be running. We do not rent or trade e-mail lists with other organisations or businesses.

We currently use a third-party provider, Bravo, to deliver our newsletters. They collect statistics around e-mail opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our communications. For more information you can read Brevo’s privacy notice.

You can unsubscribe to our mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our e-mails or by e-mailing our marketing team.

2.     Ticketing Data

Brandenburg Choral Festival of London does not sell tickets directly. Instead, two main third-party providers do so for us.

For concerts at St Martin-in-the-Fields, we use the St Martin-in-the-Fields Box Office. You can read their privacy policy here. For all other events, tickets are sold through ticketsource.co.uk. Their privacy policy is available here

Ticket sellers share names and contact details with us to enable us to manage our concerts, but we will not use that information to contact you for marketing purpose unless you have expressly given your permission for us to do so. We do not share information provided to us any further.

From time to time we offer other events websites a portion of our tickets to sell on our behalf. Please see those websites for more information on their privacy policies.

Keeping data secure

Brandenburg Choral Festival of London ensures that data held is kept secure.

•       Electronically-held data is held within a password-protected and secure environment

•       Access to electronic data files will be rescinded as soon as an individual with data access leaves their role/position

•       Physically-held data (e.g. e-mail sign-up sheets) are stored behind a locked door

Access to data is only be given to relevant staff members where it is clearly necessary for the running of the organisation. The Data Protection Officer decides in what situations this is applicable and keeps a master list of who has access to data.

We keep records for no longer than is necessary in order to meet the intended use for which it was gathered (unless there is a legal requirement to keep records).
