Embark on an unforgettable musical journey at sea with two of the UK's most respected and inspiring choir leaders: Abi Gilchrist and Ross Power.
Abi Gilchrist is an award-winning vocalist, vocal coach, choir director, and founder of UK Soul Choirs, one of the largest and most successful community choir networks across London and the South East. Trained at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the London School of Musical Theatre, Abi has built an outstanding career spanning professional performance, vocal education, and community music-making.
As a highly sought-after session singer, Abi's voice can be heard on television programmes, film soundtracks including Mission: Impossible and Thor: Love and Thunder, and popular children's shows such as Do You Know? and Maddie and Me. Most recently, she performed with Grammy-winning artist Jacob Collier on Later... with Jools Holland, adding to an impressive portfolio of professional credits across stage, screen, and broadcast media. Alongside her performing career, Abi teaches vocal technique at Trinity Laban and was former Principal Vocal Tutor at the London School of Musical Theatre. She specialises in vocal technique, confidence-building, and helping singers discover the very best in their voices.
Joining Abi is Ross Power, an award-winning composer, arranger, musical director, and co-founder of UK Soul Choirs. Ross has enjoyed an impressive career composing and arranging music for film, television, and theatre productions broadcast on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Netflix, Hulu, and Fox. His credits include collaborations with acclaimed artists, comedians, and broadcasters, as well as world-class organisations such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra. As Musical Director of UK Soul Choirs, Ross is renowned for his infectious enthusiasm, imaginative arrangements, and remarkable ability to bring out the best in singers of all abilities - with plenty of laughter along the way. His expertise as a composer and arranger ensures every song is transformed into a thrilling, uplifting, and rewarding choir experience.
Together, Abi and Ross lead a thriving choir community of more than 700 singers across London and Kent. Their choirs are widely recognised for their positive impact on wellbeing, mental health, and community connection, creating welcoming spaces where people can sing, learn, laugh, and grow together.
