In the second of today’s opening concerts Artistic Director Robert Porter wields the baton for a performance of Mozart’s ever-popular Requiem, sung by our resident choir, the Brandenburg Festival Chorus. In the first half, the festival’s orchestra Brandenburg Sinfonia takes centre stage, with three more masterworks by Mozart: the Salzburg Symphony no. 3 in F, the 'Marriage of Figaro' Divertimento (featuring members of the wind section and glorious melodies from the opera), and the Serenade no. 13 in G major for strings, better known as Eine kleine Nachtmusik.
