The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London welcomes back the Joyful Company of Singers for its second performance in the 2018 Spring Series.
Tonight's programme is a feast of sumptuous French music. In the first half the choir sing two rare chorales by Saint-Saëns along with Fauré's much-loved Cantique de Jean Racine, and Franck's famous Panis Angelicus from the Mass for three voices, performed tonight in a new choral version but with the original accompanying forces of cello, harp and organ. The festival's resident orchestra the Brandenburg Sinfonia, also perform two orchestral items by Fauré and Debussy's Danse sacre et danse profane. In the second half all forces combine under the baton of Peter Broadbent to perform Fauré's ever-popular Requiem.
Join us for this decidedly Gallic concert in beautiful candlelit surroundings of St Martin-in-the-Fields.
