ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Inner Voices is an inner London Chamber Choir made up of singers from a group of state schools in Westminster and Lambeth. The choir was formed in 2011, when Ralph Allwood left Eton College, to bring his expertise into the state sector. Central to the choir’s vision is that pupils from all London’s communities and backgrounds should be able to take part in high quality music making and the choir stands out as a youth choir who represent our city.
Over the last couple of years the choir has toured and performed extensively including broadcasts on Radio 4 and Classic FM and touring to Prague and Belgium. The choir aims to sing classical choral music to a first class standard as well as explore new music and venues. In our first year we teamed up with 40 adults to sing
Spem In Alium in a concrete underpass near the skate park on the South Bank and the year after we perform some tracks from 1992’s A Soulful Celebration at the Union Chapel complete with Big Band. This year we are looking more towards great choral traditions with Evensongs in Salisbury Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.
