The Ionian Singers perform this programme of European musical treasures. Rheinberger's serene Abendlied will be heard alongside Romantic choral songs by Brahms and Wolf, and works by Lange-Müller and Grieg will provide a Scandinavian twist. There will also be a contemporary strand to the programme with music by Alan Bullard and the choir's conductor, Timothy Salter, as well as a rare opportunity to hear three seldom-performed songs by Coleridge-Taylor and Warlock.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
The Ionian Singers is a chamber choir committed to the performance of new works and great music from the past four hundred years. Under their conductor, Timothy Salter, they perform widely in London and the UK and have regularly undertaken overseas tours. Their enterprising programmes draw large audiences and they have broadcast in the UK, Europe and the USA. Recordings by The Ionian Singers and Timothy Salter, acknowledged for the quality of their performances, reflect their concert programming policy pursued over many years: to search out less familiar repertoire. All the recordings include a substantial amount of music that is unavailable elsewhere in the current catalogues.
