The Sussex Song Makers are a Sussex based all female ensemble that has a mix from a cappella early music to twentieth century music with a view to entertaining as well as creating fine music.

The group was formed in 2015 by Elizabeth Muir-Lewis, a conductor and singer. Elizabeth sang internationally (Georg Solti/Chicago Symphony. Washington Symphony, Carnegie Hall, Paris/Ghent/Wexford, Glyndebourne Festivals/ BBC recitals. She founded and conducted Eastbourne Choral Society; founded the International Camerata Concerts in Eastbourne; and is a well known singing teacher. She is also Chair of Eastbourne Arts Circle.

Her eight singers are all trained singers, and some are soloists in their own right. Elizabeth wanted to create a fine group of evenly matched voices. Usually their programme is an equal mix of music and poetry. For their London concert with the Brandenburg Choral Festival their program will be without poetry.
