Brandenburg [brahn-duh n-boo rk] Britain’s beloved musical organisation, featuring two super orchestras of talented musicians and the Choral Festival. 10 years old, Brandenburg ran a series of 150 concerts annually until Covid stopped them in their tracks.

El Camino [El Kah-mee-noh] is the path of the pilgrimage across Northern Spain to Santiago de Compostela and the Shrine of St James the Great (Sant Iago). The name comes from Camino, Spanish for way, path or route.

The Brandenburg Camino began life as a musical pilgrimage through the darkness of the pandemic. Now, it continues as an online choral community bringing people together to learn, record, socialise and, of course, sing.

We create a series of musical ‘Steps’ or projects based on a gem of the choral repertoire. Steps take place on an occasional basis throughout the year with each one lasting six weeks.

Each step of our Camino will combine singing, study and the musical camaraderie we’re all missing so much - all from the comfort of your own home. With each Step, Pilgrims gain access to:

  • Training support resources

  • Recording support resources

  • A monthly quiz

  • The virtual El Camino Winebar for socialising

  • Audio and video participation in the final recording of a well loved choral masterpiece.

  • A full rehearsal

  • Sectional rehearsals

  • Vocal coaching

  • Social analysis seminars

  • Camino Chums - a unique buddy system

A lot of future organising will happen on Facebook - existing Camino participants please join our Facebook group! If you are new to Camino, please email me to join our email list.

I hope you will join us.
