ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

The Addison Group of Singers, established in West London over 30 years ago is a registered charity. David Wordsworth is the Musical Director and the primary object is to advance the education and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects. The group is home to four choirs including Classical and Jazz, and three voice and music education classes.
The Addison Jazz Choir and Jazz Ensemble perform a diverse range of music from the 1930s to the present including songs from musicals and film to jazz standards and popular hits. Many of the arrangements are original and performances are accompanied by quality jazz musicians.
The jazz choir is a female voice choir of 40 members and the jazz ensemble is a smaller auditioned choir for mixed voices. Dr Jill Jarman, conductor of the choir, is an accomplished jazz musician, educator and composer whose work is performed world-wide. Jill arranges much of the repertoire giving the choir a fresh sound. The jazz ensemble is conducted by the Addison Singers Deputy Musical Director, Matthew Hough, who is an accomplished soloist, accompanist and choral conductor.
Addison Jazz is honored to have as its patron Jacqui Dankworth, daughter of Cleo Laine and John Dankworth.
