We are always delighted to welcome the Reading Phoenix Choir for another fantastic programme performed with precision and flair. Tonight's concert features two works by Brahms - opening with a glorious piano solo Rhapsody, followed by his magnificent Ein Deutsches Requiem.

About the performers

One of the finest amateur choirs in the UK, Reading Phoenix Choir continually wows audiences across the land with its extraordinary and captivating sound. The choir has regularly appeared on radio and television and in May 2015 represented England at the Cork International Choral Festival.

Producing musical artistry of the highest calibre, the choir has members of all backgrounds and ages, with a variety of musical experience but all sharing a love of choral music.. It explores the whole range of a cappella music, early and contemporary, sacred and secular, serious and light. The choir has given more than 20 first performances of specially commissioned pieces.

In recent years the choir has established an annual Carol Concert in Reading Minster and the opportunity to join the choir for a Come and Sing from the wider choral repertoire.
