ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Skolia Choir was formed in 2003 by its musical director and conductor Elizabeth de Lacey. Ever since its very humble beginnings, the choir has been lucky enough to have as its ‘home’ the beautiful St Peter’s Church in Notting Hill. This popular choir, which enjoys huge local support, has been described in the press as a ‘West London musical sensation’. Under the exacting direction of Elizabeth de Lacey, the choir attracts singers who enjoy the challenge of getting right to the heart of they music they sing. Over the thirteen years of its existence, the choir has performed a long list of works from the classical choral repertoire including such highlights as Monteverdi’s Vespers and Bach’s St John Passion. Tonight represents the choir's fourth appearance at the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London, and follows their triumphant performance of Spem in Alium last year, which was received with a standing ovation.
